New Delhi -- An exhibition of paintings - animals and landscapes - by special children will kick off here Wednesday.
The Gallery 302 will unveil the display brought from Jaipur by Umang, an NGO involved with disabled children.
Gallery official Purnima Dhawan said: "Some of these paintings had been put on exhibition and for sale in several art galleries of Jaipur."
The works include those by Madeleine Binzegger, an artist affected by polio at a very young age. Binzegger is confined to a wheelchair, which she calls her wings.
Binzegger, who teaches art to special children, worked with a travel agency in Switzerland till 1994 and has been visiting India since 1995.
Dhawan added: "This year Madeleine came in February and has been working with the physically and mentally challenged students of Umang."
The paintings of birds, cats, dogs, flowers and even parrots will be displayed during the exhibition-cum-sale, to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
Priced at Rs.1,500 apiece, this will be art for heart's sake as the proceeds will be used to educate the disabled.
