Bihar MLA arrested in Jharkhand, sent to jail

Patna -- A ruling Janata Dal-United (JD-U) legislator was sent to jail Friday after he was arrested in the neighbouring Jharkhand state Thursday in connection with a 2005 murder case.
Ranvijay Singh, who was arrested from Hazaribagh Thursday night, was produced in the court of the Aurangabad district chief judicial magistrate Friday and was remanded in judicial custody.
Singh had been on the run ever since his bail was cancelled last month.
The legislator is the prime accused in Brijnandan Yadav's murder that took place during the 2005 assembly polls in Goh constituency, which he represents.
