Although Bally Jagpal`s albums are known to have fewer tracks, "Untruly Yours" is ridiculously short! The most disappointing thing about this album is that it has only 4 tracks The album starts off with “Ranjha”, a phat r&b beat mixed with some electronic vocals. This catchy track will definitely rock the garage-bhangra music charts. Bally Jagpal does the vocals, as well as the entire musical production for the track. This creative song gets you enthusiastic about the rest of the album. The second song, Akha Jahgo Meti Rendiya, is sung by Shazia Manzoor. This is also a nice, mellow song with a similar style R&B beat. Mur Vataeyia is a firey-garage song with the vocals! ! done by the versatile Ranjit Manni. The song is pretty decent, but won’t be a chart-busting track.
Ranjit Manni has become synonymous with Punjabi-garage music. He has contributed his rough-style, high-pitch voice to albums by Panjabi MC, Bally Jagpal, and various other UK Bhangra artists. Although he has done a phenomenal job singing in these garage songs, it would be nice to have him involved in a newer, real, traditional bhangra production. The last song on this album is Aaja Sohneya. This remix is pretty weak, and has no new or different flavor/vibe compared to the original Aaja Sohneya. Shazia Manzoor does a good job with the song, but the remix just has a couple of extra dhol beats and sounds the same as the original.
Bally Jagpal had set new standards for the bhangra music industry with his last two albums, “Dark and Dangerous” and “Live & Direct”. Unfortunately, “Untruly Yours” has fallen below these standards. Bhangra fans everywhere admired the traditional bhangra vibes that exploded from Jagpal’s “Viah Karvake”, “Baas Ve”, “Gunman”, “Nakhre Bin Soni Timi”, etc. “Untruly Yours” does not even contain ONE real bhangra song. All the garage/R&B Punjabi songs are good, but unlike his last album, this album has no true variety (How can there be not even ONE bhangra track??). With only 3 original tracks, no variety, and no bhangra, “Untruly Yours” comes as a dissapointment to all true bhangra fans.
