Fame Gurukul.. Should You or Shouldn't You?

I just mentioned i won't write today, but here i am. People force me to write, not the one who do it but the one who bear it.

Before i start, let me urge you to go through this excerpt from a press release from last year --

'2004 will be the most successful year in terms of revenue for TV generated messaging' says visiongain latest SMS/TV report.

SMS text messaging has been one of the biggest saviours for the mobile phone industry. At a time when the industry was being battered financially by the cost of acquisitions and vastly over-estimated the worth of third generation licenses, SMS was, and still is, the cash cow that has provided ever increasing revenues to keep the industry from collapsing.

Visiongain believes that 2004 will be the most successful year in terms of revenue for TV generated messaging, with global revenues reaching €9.4bn that year from TV alone. However, visiongain predicts that the number of premium SMS sent over the next five years' will increase to a peak in 2005 due to the increase of services being made available across the globe.

"There is no doubt about it, TV producers are very interested in the use of premium SMS as an interactive channel," said Adrian Hinchcliffe, author of the report. "We will start to see more and more quiz shows adopting an element of SMS interaction into the actual content of the show."

So you'd ask where does this apply to me??? Seen 'Fame Gurukul'? or 'Indian Idol' or some such "votin in" MTV, VTV, ATV, BTV and so on...

Are they really worried about that girl, Arpita, Ruprekha or the two poor fellows.. Kaazi or Rex?? All they are worried about is their money dear.. why  don't you understand?? After they've done all they could they've turned to exploiting your emotions to make money?? How can you take that? Can you let a everyday sales man to con you into buying something you don't need?? then why let these ppl con you into sending that Rs.6 sms just so that particular face remains in the contest.. when you're not even sure he/she will remain there..

I'm not pretty sure what are the arrangements between TV and Cellular networks in India but Rs. 6 for a one minute call and same for a single SMS is a lot of money and the kind of figures the contestants talk about is huge.. What is it?? Pressing on your weak nerve?? Somebody who's failed himself doesn't want another one to lose??

Isn't that elder tell us anyways?? Help each other.. don't let anybody down? But why send that sms? or that call? because nobody is bothered about your vote.. its the money everybody is worried about?

[inline:1]Next in line i would think would be interactive serials... Ok... Kkusum is over for this week?? Would you like to see Kkumud alive in the opera next week??

for yes type 19 00  44 3344

for no type 19 00 44 3355 and so on..

or take another K series serial.. Kasauti.. there'd be voting on that too...

Which one do you want alive in the next episode of the serial??

for Mr. Bajaj Dial 19 00 44 3377

for Anurag Dail 19 00 44 33 88

..... To me all this looks like a pickpocket eyeing your wallet. But this would go on as long as us gullible people let it go on. Are they through with all their one way entertainment ideas?? if interactive tv is the thing, i would really want that.. but then i would want to see the flick i want to.. or the discovery i faintly remember but would like to refresh?? Why blackmail me by showing dropped sad faces or poor people like me?(i can't sing so thats a different thing).. Why make them a part of the whole conspiracy??

I would not vote.. for you i let it be you!
