Would-be immigrants to face tougher prospects

Canada, 11th September: Aspiring immigrants wanting to move to nations like the US, Canada, UK or Australia are likely to face grim scenario in the future.

This is due to several factors including political turmoil and plunging growth rates of most of these nations and their consequent effects on the job scene for foreigners.
It is being increasingly felt that aspiring foreigners wanting to move overseas will encounter tougher immigration criteria due to the onset of another period of financial crisis in the global economy. However, to make things more clear, we need to make a country-wise analysis and the future they hold for would-be immigrants.
Outlook in Canada—Although, the economy of Canada has been successfully generating several new jobs for the past some time and absorbing many newcomers in highly-paying jobs.
But, there is no denying the fact the number of white collar jobs in Canada has considerably gone down due to its dependence on the US economy. Since, the US economy is struggling due to recent financial instability, Canada, being its neighbor, is obvious to get affected. Moreover, the several industries are feeling the pinch due to increasing wages.
Scene in US—Talking of the US, tougher US visa rules introduced in the recent times along with hurdles in the way of getting US citizenship are posing a big threat to the future of many aspiring immigrants wanting to come to the US.
There is no hope of conditions turning favorable for would-be immigrants, at least, not in the near future. Moreover, with more and more US firms likely to set up their base in nations including India, competition for white collar jobs will grow tough.
Job outlook in UK—Marred by the recent racial riots and along political instability, UK is already struggling to re-design its tarnished image of a favored global overseas destination. And the recently introduced stiffer UK immigration rules have even dampened the competitiveness of the UK in the international market.
UK has been witnessing huge reductions in public finances and this is certainly a squib for new immigrants.
Since, the UK is compelled to accept jobless youth from EU nations under the rules, it will have no alternative but to reduce further cuts in UK immigration levels for skilled migrants.
