Utah immigration bill could enable undocumented to work legally

United States, 9th March: The Utah Immigration Bill will enable undocumented immigrants to get work permits to undertake employment in Utah

However, this is only subject to the verification by the police officials about the immigration status of the concerned workers who might seem suspicious of any felony or some serious crime.

Utah is likely to become the first US state allowing legal US work permits to undocumented foreigners to live and work in the US legally through its approval to Guest Worker Program for Undocumented immigrants.

Lawmakers were welcomed by Gary Herbert, a Republican Governor, for finding an amicable solution to the problem of undocumented immigration of the state.

He, however, is yet to give his opinion whether the bill will be signed by him or not. And the US government will have to provide a waiver to enable Utah to allow undocumented immigrants in the state living without having legal permission.

Whether Utah has the right to demand such an option from the US is a question still baffling many minds in the nation.

Nonetheless, the approval of the bill in Utah, a state affected badly by undocumented immigration, is of great significance.

Supporters of this bill are of the view that the bill is a perfect solution to balance economic requirements as well as compassion.

The bill, they say, is not only a recognition of the significance of immigrant workforce for businesses in the US but also focuses on the need for cracking down on undocumented immigrants found to be involved in criminal offence.

Opponents of the bill, however, maintain that the bill, if provided clearance, would lead to opening up of a new wave of undocumented immigration in the US.

According to executive director of Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, Alfonso Aguilar, the legislation is a best approach that is supportive of the rights and requirements of the businesses in Utah and is also welcoming for immigrants.

The legislation would enable undocumented immigrants in Utah to enjoy legal rights in the US without any fear of getting detained and eventually removed from the US provided the US government moves as per the plans.
