US visa reforms could boost jobs

United States, 21st September: The US administration is finding ways to increase employment opportunities for Americans without introducing higher taxes or putting more funds at stake.

And the issue of introducing desired reforms in US visa process seems to be an obvious answer to the chaos being faced by the US at the present times.
What reforms does US visa system needs—To put it in simple words, we can say that the US visa system must allow more immigrants to the nation to help them in generation of increased number of jobs for the Americans.
Indeed, it is true. Increasing the upper limit of the annual quota for US immigration can help in creating as many as one million new jobs in the US in the coming ten years.
And that too without making any hole in the taxpayers’ pockets.
Ease US travel visa norms —The US must work towards making changes in the US immigration system to attract increased number of foreign visitors each year. This means having friendly and hassle-free US visa norms. There is a need for tapping the vast potential of foreign visitors from nations including Brazil, China and India.
Often, applicants wanting to get US travel visas have to wait for as much as three months or even longer for getting a US visa for travelling.
Moreover, many foreigners have to travel long distances for attending a visa-interview and also spend huge money without any assurance of getting a US travel visa for visiting the US. However, immigration rules for Europe are far less complicated and tedious where most of the visits don’t even require any visa.
No wonder, many foreigners opt to visit European nations like the UK and France while the US is lagging behind in terms of attracting more overseas visitors.
Provide local access to US visa—The US needs to increase its consular offices for fast processing of US visa applications. Moreover, US administration must work towards in fast processing of US visas to enable overseas tourists visit the nation in peak travel season.
The current validity period for US visas needs to be increased to make it compatible with the other nations of the world. There also needs to be reduction in waiting times for visa interviews. All these initiatives can help in creating jobs by allowing more and more overseas visitors to the US.
