US revises College fee to attract International students

Degree fee in American Colleges has been revised to be $10,000

A large number of international students obtain a higher degree from the Colleges and Universities of United States. The various degrees are obtained in the area of science, technology, engineering and mathematics field.

There has been a time when the colleges and universities experienced a drop in their numbers.
According to a survey made by GOA the counterparts of USA have started proving g more avenues, alternatives and better employment and settlement opportunities to the international folk of students at a cheaper cost than USA. This is observed as the larger reason for the lesser enrollments of international students. In fact, the cost of obtaining a degree from US University has been the highest in the world.

Revision in the fee

In a major development, US colleges have proposed to beat down the prices and have suggested keeping the fee as $10,000 for a degree course so that the country’s college debt can be tackled sooner.

The announcement would attract a large number of students from India as the past record reveals enrolment number as 100,000 every year from this country alone.

All this while an average cost of earning an undergraduate course from US College has been $30,000, which is now reduced to $10,000.

USA has started this new journey with 10 modest schools in Texas.

Angelo State University with student strength of 7,000 has started the initiative of offering the degree course at $10, 000; there are others who are following this trend.

Rick Perry, Governor of Texas says, “A $10,000 degree provides an opportunity for students to earn a low cost, high quality degree that will get them where they want to go in their careers and lives.”

The arguments against the changes

The disgruntled lot suggests that the fee of $10,000 will not include campus housing and text books and it includes other changes like paying the faculty on per class basis instead of paying a salary.

In spite of some people standing against the changes, the matter of fact is that the student loan of $1 trillion on the Americans have to be paid off sooner than later, and for that every measure has to be adopted which works to clear this loan.
