US issues first fiancé visas

This has been announced by the US Embassy in Manila.

US Same sex visas issued—The latest news is that the US same-sex visas have been issued to same-sex couples in Philippines. And this is certainly welcoming news for gay Americans wanting to file petition for their Filipino spouses/fiancés or their children.

US same-sex visas have been issued to same-sex couples in the Philippines, as per the latest announcement by the US Embassy in Manila.

A US fiancé visa was issued to Maria Carla Antonio and Maria Cecillia Limson Gahuman (their marriage will be held on 30th December in California, US.

While Maria Limson Gahuman happens to be a Filipina, Maria Antonio is an American. They will be solemnizing their marriage by transition of their decade-long relationship by the end of this year. Meanwhile, Robert Cotterman and Noel Aeinghel Amaro are the first gay couple (from Philippines) to be issued the first US fiancé visa. Both met each other online and are going to marry in the US in the next month.

Much awaited US same-sex visas—The US same-sex visas(or US fiancé visas) are a much awaited step for gay couples wanting to stay together in the US with their foreign spouse.

The US Embassy in Manila(the Philippines) is the first to issue first US fiancé visas to any same-sex couple. It may be worth notable in this regard that the Supreme Court of the US announced a decision a couple of months ago striking down a part of the US DOMA(Defense of Marriage Act) that defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

And with the US Supreme Court’s decision of striking the DOMA, the US government will have to offer all US rights as well as privileges of marriage to any couple that is married irrespective of their sexual orientation and immigration rights .

Giving details about the step, John Kerry, the US Secretary of State, said that the US State Department is finally tearing down an unfair as well as an unjust obstacle that prevented same-sex families to travel to the US.

Meanwhile, the US Embassy states that the Filipinos who happen to be in same-sex relationships with the Americans should visit the Visas section at the official website of the US Embassy in Manila for getting further detailed information. Information about the new US same-sex visa opportunities can be obtained for getting details.
