Undocumented immigrants’ children must get US citizenship
by Michelle S - February 11, 2013
United States, 11th February: Congress must initiate its efforts to legalize children brought to the US by their undocumented immigrant parents.

This has been asserted by Eric Cantor(R-Va.), House Majority Leader.
US citizenship must for undocumented immigrant children—Speaking about the issue needing urgent action, Cantor said the need is to begin with the children.
Only such an action can assure better life for undocumented immigrants’ children. Such children need to be given lawful US immigration status and must be given an opportunity to become US citizenship, he claimed.
That’s because they don’t have any fault of their own for being in the US unlawfully. Cantor said he was in favor of granting US citizenship to undocumented immigrants’ children. Hence, the US lawmakers should amicably agree to offer US citizenship to such children.
US needs to become open to offering US citizenship to undocumented immigrant children at the earliest, states a top US Republican Eric Cantor.
Cantor maintained that Congress should not wait to deal with the issue of a detailed US immigration reform but come forward towards the issue of undocumented immigrant children.
US citizenship for undocumented immigrants, not just children—Meanwhile, another Republican involved in the issue of offering undocumented immigrant children the opportunity to become US citizens wants to offer a route to US citizenship for all undocumented immigrants (and not just immigrant children).
Only by doing so can 11 million undocumented immigrants come out of the shadows, said Republican Senator John McCain.
Republican Cantor did not clarify on the issue of offering a route to US citizenship for immigrant adults. It may be worth mentioned that the issue is of great significance to Cantor and is vital for improving the image of this party and for winning Latino voters.
The US President Barack Obama has been reiterating his pledge to make comprehensive immigration reform a priority during his second term. He has assured to have an immigration reform by year end.
Cantor’s efforts for US citizenship have been appreciated by Dick Durbin( a Democrat in the US Senate). He added that his party colleagues want to have more for undocumented immigrants by pushing the US Dream Act forward.
