Speaking in East London, the PM Gordon Brown although admitted the legitimacy of the voters to feel anxious about the number of immigrants coming into the UK and their significant effect on the public services of the nation, nonetheless, he asked the intervening of UK politicians to address the issue of major public interest.

Brown also clarified the fact to the voters that the present data from the UK immigration reveals that, on the contrary, the number of people moving to the UK has come down considerably. Hence, there is no need to lock the doors for those desirous of obtaining the UK visa for moving to the nation. For this, a united front is needed from all the major parties of the UK against those who want to ban immigration into the UK altogether.

UK immigration is socially and economically beneficial for the nation’s economy, reiterated Brown.

The net inward migration to the country has come down to 147,000 in 2009 from a whopping 170,000 in 2007, Brown admitted maintaining that the majority of inward migration was within the EU(Eastern Europe) as UK people were relocating to other EU nations including France, Spain etc.

He was all praises for the changed UK points based system adding that the UK government will not allow any unskilled immigrant workers to come into the UK from non EU nations since there is no need for such workers in the labor market of the country, right now.

Brown stated before a party audience in East London that the UK will not welcome those immigrants who are unlikely to make contributions to the economy of the nation and who have no respect and honor for the British values and way of life.
