United Kingdom, 22nd September: UK passports have undergone a facelift to ensure more safety and smart look following the redesigning process.

So, from October onwards, the UK passports will become available in a new appearance. The new look will also include additions of images of iconic spots in the UK while making it difficult for forgers to copy this document. Travelers who love the stamps in the passports will be pleased by the new UK passports.
The new UK passport has been restructured in the form of a picture book by including several national landmarks and scenic pictures of country life. It features a few oak leaves and a line of cottages with a request to allow safe entry.
Some of the images to be included in the UK passports are the Gower Peninsular, While Cliffs of Dover, the Giant Causeway and Ben Nevis.
The redesigned UK passport will include several security features to prevent incidence of identity fraud and forgery, stated an official spokesperson of the UK Home Office.
This includes an invisible security chip containing the personal details of the UK passport holder embedded within.
The covering of the new UK passport will be see-through and will show numerous holograms to shield the personal details of the passport holder along with a secondary picture of the passport holder on the observations page.
Hence, the new redesigned UK passport is embedded with a couple of electronic security and physical features to make it among the most trusted and safe documents the world over, stated chief executive of identity and Passport service, Sarah Rapson. She also asserted that the new document meets even rigorous global standards successfully.
The aim of this redesigning, said Rapson was to make it difficult for rogue criminals trying to copy or alter UK passports.
The cost of the new UK passport will be the same as earlier, that is, £77.50 initially for adults and for children, it will be £49. However, the cost of the document might be increased as or when needed.
The total upgradation cost of the ten year UK passport is stated to be £400million.
