UK jobs reduced by half in latest UK visa clampdown

United Kingdom, 17th March: As per the official information, jobs in the UK for immigrants hailing from non EU (Eastern Union) nations will be reduced by 50 percent.

As per the current UK immigration rules, the annual limit for UK work permits is stated to be 50,000 provided such jobs remain unfilled by the EU or the Briton workers.
Several non-graduate jobs taken off the list--
The new UK immigration rules will reduce the number of jobs in the UK for immigrants from non-EU nations to 230,000.
So, this means a number of non-graduate jobs including those of steel erectors, pipe fitters, welders, estate agents, beauty salon managers and florists will get chopped from the ‘shortage occupation list’.
In addition, other non-graduate jobs in the UK to be axed from the ‘shortage occupation list’ include meat boners, sheep shearers, and senior care workers for working in the UK.
Several other UK jobs likely to be cut off from the list---
Apart from these jobs, other jobs in the ‘shortage occupation list’ are also awaiting review from the UK Home Office. If there are sufficient number of candidates possessing required qualifications as well as skills for such jobs, then the MAC (Migration Advisory Committee) might cut nearly thousands of UK jobs in the coming times.
Aim of new UK immigration rules---
Aim of all such UK immigration rules is to ensure that the native UK workers get priority in getting jobs in the UK over the non-EU immigrants.
Moreover, another target is to make sure that the only immigrants possessing those skills are allowed immigration into the UK which are in great demand in the UK labor market.
According to UK immigration minister Damian Green, aim of the changes introduced in the ‘shortage occupation list’ is to make sure that the UK Tier 2 visa scheme allows only the skilled immigrants to come to the UK for working here.
And the number of skilled jobs under the UK Tier 2 visa scheme will be reduced to 121 from the current 192. So, immigrants will, no longer, be the priority for filling up of various UK jobs, Mr. Green asserted adding that the firms in the UK will get the provision of hiring immigrants possessing required skills for work in the UK.
