UK immigrants should pay fee for public services- Tory MP

United Kingdom, 8th October: Immigrants coming to the UK must be levied a fee for using public service in the UK , Nick Boles, a Tory MP has urged.

Boles, who happens to be a key ally of UK PM(Prime Minister) David Cameron, said immigrants should pay a fee of £5,000 as a surety before the grant of UK visas.
Such amount received from the immigrants coming to the UK will be given back to them only when they have paid taxes higher than the amount deposited by them as a surety.
The amount could be a sort of public services bond imposed by the UK government on migrants wanting immigration to the UK.
Mr. Boles, a former aide and a friend of Cameron, said that the proposed move of charging a special fee from people seeking UK immigration is aimed to make sure that all immigrants to the UK do have a financial commitment towards the nation with the condition that they will be paid back their money in a span of few years.
The immigration had touched all new levels in the UK in the recent years.
An option proposed by Mr. Boles is that the amount of £5,000 deposited by the migrants before the grant of UK visas will be forfeited by the UK government in the event of a crime committed by the concerned immigrant or in case, the immigrant fails the tax in the period of following three years.
All such proposals have been mentioned in a book titled-‘Which Way’s Up-the Future for Coalition Britain and How to Get There’.
Tory MP Boles has also urged the UK government for an annual limit of 20,000-50,000 on the number of migrants hailing from non-EU nations wanting to move to the UK. It may be noteworthy that an annual cap of 24,100 has already been put into place by the UK government for skilled immigrants to the UK.
The rate of joblessness in Britain is soaring. Currently, there are around 2.5 million unemployed people in the UK. and the fact that around 190,640 immigrant workers moved to the UK last year is adding to the nation’s woes.
A suggestion by Mr. Boles include expelling all EU migrants from the UK who do not have any jobs in the UK while making English language test mandatory for all potential immigrants and no access to the provision of social housing for the period of next five years for them.
