UK government database gets thousands tip-offs over undocumented immigrants

United Kingdom, 18th May: Nearly one tip-off is being received every second about undocumented immigrants by the new UK government database.

As per the reports, total tip-offs about immigrants living in the UK unlawfully are stated to be nearly 100,000 annually.

Tip-offs raise concerns about undocumented immigration—An increasingly high number of tip-offs being received by the federal database named National Allegations Database each year reveal a serious threat to the UK immigration’s security and integrity.

And this raises concerns about the extent of unlawful immigration in the UK.

National Allegations Database-- Launched by the UK Home Office, the National Allegations Database has the ability to log detailed information of intelligence regarding undocumented immigration. People can give tip-offs on phone regarding undocumented immigrants living in the UK or working unlawfully in the UK. And the UK immigration officials will arrest all those living or working unlawfully in the UK by simply knocking on their doors.

Great public response to federal database--As many as 25,600 tip-offs were received by the National Allegations Database between a short span of three months from mid-December till March this year although the database is yet to be launched formally.

This amounts to nearly 230 allegations each day. The general belief among immigration officials is that information about undocumented immigrants in the UK is indeed genuine and true. In a span of few months, nearly 700 arrests were made after 900 separate raids.

Around 16,000 allegations had sufficient information for sending immigration officials to conduct full probe.

Expressing his happiness at the tremendous response, chairman of UK think-tank Migrationwatch, Sir Andrew Green said the public response to an invitation by the government that is still awaiting its official launch is simply great. And it also brings home the reality about increasingly high number of undocumented immigrants living and working in the UK, he added.

As per official estimates by the UK Home Office in 2005, the UK had nearly 570,000 undocumented immigrants. However, Migrationwatch fears it could be nearly 870,000 as figures did not consider children of migrants living in the UK unlawfully.

The immigration teams are sorted these by placing those with highest-risk suspects at the top. Information received in tip-offs by public pertains to firearms, threat to life, counter-terrorism, vulnerable children and adults, child trafficking, possession of drugs and drugs firms and sexual offences.
