United Kingdom, 24th August: Several employer groups in the UK have urged the UK government for reconsideration of its decision regarding UK visa cap.

This is due to the fact that out of every 10 companies in the UK, nearly one wants to outsource jobs overseas in the next year.
Findings of the recent study by CIPD(Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) and KPMG(an accounting giant), finance, IT and call-centre jobs in the UK are probably going to be relocated to overseas, with India likely to become the biggest relocation centre for such jobs.
In addition, it has also been revealed by the study findings that several firms are seeking recruitment of foreign workers. Nearly one out of six firms admitted of the likelihood of hiring immigrant workers in the second half of the current year.
The most affected by the UK government’s decision of capping annual UK immigration levels will be countries like India and China.
And the potential immigrants likely to be affected most by the latest decision of the UK government will be doctors, IT professionals, engineers and nurses.
The recent move by UK government could also mean ending the entry of skilled immigrant professionals into the UK causing a huge economic blunder for the UK economy, feel the top business establishments in the UK.
No doubt, the UK is facing a high rate of joblessness in the nation, but this does not seem to lessen the acute shortage of high skilled migrant workers. Putting an annual limit on the number of skilled immigrants allowed into the nation could spell disaster for the growth and development of the UK economy.
Meanwhile, there seems to be a blessing in disguise for countries like India and China since the survey findings also suggest that UK firms are planning of outsourcing two-thirds of jobs relating to IT, call center and finance to India and one third to China.
Outsourcing jobs to countries like India and China has already proved advantageous and profitable for the UK economy. European and US firms saved a whopping $25 billion to $30 billion by outsourcing IT and call center jobs to India in the year 2009. This was revealed by a recent NASSCOM study.
