UK’s industrial cities thronged by overseas immigrants

United Kingdom, 12th July: Overseas visitors are opting to travel to industrial cities of the UK while traditional tourism cities of the UK including Edinburgh and London seem to be losing charm for immigrants from abroad.

As per the data released by Visit Britain, a tourist body in the UK, Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester are the most favored tourist

destinations.

The largest industrial cities of the UK seem to be having a fresh lease of life after being labeled as fashionable and hip tourist
destinations in the world.

No doubt, Edinburgh and London are most quite popular tourist destinations of the UK, but Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham are giving a big chase and proving to be their biggest tourist rivals.

The reason for this change in the mindset of the people resulting in preference of UK’s industrial cities as the new hot tourist destinations is due to the fact that those coming for business concerns in the UK are smitten by the charm of such cities. Hence, they decide to come again to travel and spend time again in such cities, states the survey.

The survey revealed that London attracted around 15 million visitors from abroad staying overnight annually in the past four years. Edinburgh was second with around 1.3 million overseas visitors opting to stay and travel there.

Chasing closely was Manchester which came third by attracting around 900,000 overseas immigrant tourists. Birmingham allured 737,000 foreign visitors thronging the town famous for its extraordinary arts and exhibitions.

Glasgow, which is famous for its architecture and style, saw 687,000 traveling and exploring the beauty of this city.

London attracted 6.6 million people visiting for exclusive holiday trips while Edinburgh came second with 771,000 foreign visitors coming to the city. Glasgow and Highlands came third and fourth with 312,000 and 180,000 foreign visitors coming to these cities.

Cities of Scotland are the coolest the world over and are preferred by those having a taste for fine dining or wining, says chairman of VisitScotland Mike Cantlay. Glasgow has rise to become the stylish places in Europe. Hence, with museums, restaurants and exhibition centre in its hemisphere along with coastal views and architecture excellence, Scotland’s style is unmatched for.
