Thousands of jobs for unskilled workers in WA

Australia, 23rd April: Western Australia needs thousands of workers to be employed as cooks, labors, cleaners and several other low-skilled workers, a recent independent study has revealed.

Hence, the highly recommended destination for various unskilled workers looking for jobs in Australia is Western Australia (WA). Low skilled workers in Australia are being told to head towards West since this is the only state going to create such a large number of jobs in Australia in the next decade despite the global economic crisis.

Mining boom in WA has already attracted a large number of national migrants as well as immigrants from various corners of the world in the recent years. It is being expected that in the next decade, WA will contribute for 55 percent of the total national growth in demand for labor during that period.

The study by the National Institute of Labor Studies has found that in the next ten years period, Western Australia will be in dire need of unskilled and other low-skilled workers and there will be absolutely no requirement of those possessing specialized skills.

The study added that the nearly 38,000 new jobs in WA will need semi-skilled and low-skilled workers.

The massive Gorgon gas project in the booming WA state of Australia will begin hunting for hiring cleaners, cooks and other low skilled workers for filling thousands of vacant positions in WA. The $43 billion project in WA happens to be the biggest resources project of Australia.

The study findings reveal that in the next ten years period, nearly 31,000 extra tradesmen, 30,000 semi-skilled laborers, and an additional 8,000 laborers will be needed by the mining industry.

According to Scott Alexander, manager of Stellar Recruitment, Perth, said that thousands of jobs at Gorgon will not require any specific experience. Moreover, Gorgon will also allure workers from other construction and mining projects in WA, thereby increasing labor shortages in the state.
