Submitted fake documents? Your citizenship may get revoked
Permanent Residents submitting fake documents to get citizenship may lose it and face convictions
The Government of Canada and its Immigration Department is taking all measures to ensure that the process of Immigration is firm and fair.
Few months back, a pile of applications were returned back along with the processing fee to clear the backlog, which has actually served the purpose. Then announcement has been made about changes in Federal Skilled worker programs so that immigrants can settle better and faster.
Now the Government has rolled up its sleeves to crackdown upon any immigrants who have acquired the “permanent residency status” with fake documents.

Recently, more than 3000 Canadians had to give up their citizenship because they had supposedly submitted fake documents to get the same.
The Immigration Minister has announced that even those who have permanent residency status and are likely to get citizenship very soon will be verified not eh documents they have submitted. If they are found to be “a made up one” then they will not be allowed to take oath of citizenship.
the fraud cases
There are people who have submitted false documents to meet the various criteria to acquire citizenship. Some of them have managed to submit the required number of years of staying in Canada, which actually they have not. Some of them have mentioned the origin of country to be wrong. The judges of citizenship require a complete presence of 1095 days in order to grant citizenship status.
This fraud is majorly driven by the immigration consultants who accelerate the process of scam. They help the permanent residents to get the documents which are not real.
The applicants have been found to be submitting a fake passport which shows that they have been staying in Canada for the required number of years.
They have been found to be submitting false address proof, bank statement, credit card statement
The government has warned people that somebody caught being using incorrect measures will not only lose citizenship but will also be imprisoned may be convicted too.
