South African visas mandatory for passing through to other nations

South Africa, 15th June: All those wanting to move through South Africa to reach other neighboring nations will now need to have South African transit visas.

This has been announced by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), South Africa.

As per the statement released by the department, South African Embassy has made it compulsory to possess transit visas from all foreigners who are non-visa exempt for passing through South Africa in order to reach neighboring nations.

The latest ruling of requirement of South African visa was put into effect from 1st June 2010 onwards.

The South African visa can be processed in about 10 days time at Philippines South African Embassy located at RCBC Plaza, Ayala Avenue, Makati.

The rules of South African visa do not require a visa from visitors traveling from Malaysia and Singapore to South Africa if they their total stay in South Africa is less than or equal to 60 days for Malaysians and less than or equal to 90 days for Singaporeans.

Total tariff for South African visa is US $47.

Moreover, diplomats traveling to South Africa from Vietnam and Thailand do not require any visa if their stay in the nation is less than or equal to 90 days.

The most affected by these recent changes in the rules for South African visas will be African people hailing from neighboring nations including Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the new South African visa rules will not be applicable on people from the UK traveling to neighboring nations through South Africa since British people do need a South African visa for visiting the nation for less than 90 days.

Nonetheless, if you intend to immigrate to South Africa to begin a life afresh in warm places there, then you will be required to make application for being allowed to live and work in South Africa.

In the year 2007, nearly 9,000 Britons moved to the South Africa making it among the top five nations in the world where Brits prefer to relocate from the United Kingdom.

Moreover, with the nation being the venue for the World Cup due next week, its likely to attract many people to visit and explore its delights.
