Skilled Worker Immigration - Restricted Occupations

CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) has the authority to take a decision regarding formulating a restricted occupations list when they decide that Canada already has sufficient number of skilled workers in such occupations. So, despite of having experience in an occupation which has been declared restricted by the CIC, you will not be able to use such experience to get points under the category of skilled worker immigration:

  • Such work experience can not be used for meeting the eligibility criteria of requirement of minimum work experience.
  • Moreover, you will not be able to use such work experience to get points under Work Experience-Factor 3.

However, at present, there are not any restricted occupations as such.
