Registration on for US Diversity Visa Lottery program, be wary of fraudsters

United States, 15th October: The US has begun accepting application for US Diversity Visa Lottery program for the year 2014.

This has been revealed by the US government on 2nd October.
US warns Diversity visa applicants--Meanwhile, the US government has also issued warning to potential applicants to be alert of firms posing as the US government and demanding money for completion of US visa entry forms.
The US does not ask any money for entering the US Diversity Visa(DV) Lottery program, confirmed the US Department of State recently. Hence, anyone posing as a firm of the US government and asking money through e-mail or otherwise for entering the lottery visa scheme should be avoided.
Every year, around 50,000 US Green Card Lottery application winners are announced by the US government although the number of applicants for this US visa program is stated to be in millions.
Incidents of fraudsters wanting to cash in on the anxiety of potential applicants for US DV lottery program by asking money have surfaced in Nigeria recently. Hence, the applicants need to be wary of such fraud.
Registration for US Diversity Visa Lottery Program on—Registration for US DV-2014 Program began on 2nd October this year and it will conclude on 3rd November, 2012 at 12.00 noon. Candidates need to go online for registering themselves for this US visa program.
With the second week of registration for US Electronic Diversity Visa Lottery Program is already in progress. So, all desirous applicants must act fast and register at the earliest to get a chance to win a US diversity visa.
The announcement by the US Department of State encourages applicants to keep in view the heavy demand for US Diversity visas and not wait until the end of the registration period.
Selection of immigrants under US DV Lottery Program—The US government makes selection of immigrants for the US DV Lottery Program from six different geographic regions, especially from nations having low immigration to the US(by low rate of immigration to the US, we mean nations not exceeding 50,000 immigrants to the US over last five years).
The US DV Program allows selected foreigners to come, live and work in the US permanently. Candidates for the US DV Program are selected on the basis of a random and a computer-generated selection process.
