Racial discrimination is still troubling UK
by Kenny - February 5, 2011
It is said that racism has started when the people in Eden, led by Adam and Eve ate and took the ill counsel from the tree, and after feeling naked, would then feel a distinct lack or of difference from others.
This would mean that discrimination has divided the creation from the beginning. And with this, a lot of nations tend to think of their moral values and their foundations of identity and honor are based on the supernal wealth and power. And with this, nation inequality grew and slavery was born. Racism is also caused by ignorance and fear, in which when people fear what they do not know, they would have the tendency to hate things and people who are different than them.
The evidence that discrimination is still present in UK
And even at this time, racism is very much seen in every part of the world. In London, there were reports surfacing of a widespread racial discrimination among employers against their workers who have Asian or African names. In a government survey, there were about 3,000 job applications filed with false identity from the applicants in order for the government to determine if there really is a racial discrimination among employers and job applicants with foreign names. The result showed that an applicant with a name of a white person would only have to send about 9 applications to be answered with a positive response from the employer, and the applicant with a minority name would have to spend 16 applications before getting the same response.
Racial discrimination is even present in British universities
Another disturbing discovery would be seen in British universities, where there is a clear bias in the admission of non-white applicants and has shown a distinct pecking order of entrenched discrimination against individual ethnic groups, in which applicants that are Indians, Pakistanis, Black Africans as well as even Irish are the least favored students.
A twist on the racial discrimination issue
Another shocking report suggested that about 1 in 3 white people in Britain believed to have been victims of racism in public services. The report showed that about 29% of white people are afraid of racial discrimination in services like housing, healthcare, police and jobs. The report also showed that ethnic communities fear less about being racially disadvantaged in public services, with 34% who claimed that race was still a burden and a hindrance to them as compared to the 38% who declared in 2001.
These actions on racial discrimination would show that people view other races be more superior than others because of some genetic factor that would be present in race ethnicity and would then be major determinant of human traits and capacities making other ethnic groups more superior than the rest, which would tell a very sad story for the whole human race.
