Is there any financial aids for new permanent residences/ immigrant in canada?

Question in Detail: 
we have a permanent residency and a family of 4 with 2 kids and we are totally confused and need any guidance; Is there a monthly financial aids for us till we settle down and find jobs? Is there a program/ place/person we can contact to help us to find a job?
