United States, 5th February: Number of online job ads went up by 15.4 percent in the month of January from December last year, the Conference Board has stated.

The number of online job advertisements in Illinois went up from 152,000 in December to 175,400 in January this year. The number of online job vacancies advertised in January 2010 was 144,900.
There has also been an increase in the online healthcare job advertisements for technical workers and healthcare practitioners in January this year. These job ads grew by 78,500. And an increase has also been witnessed in healthcare support jobs by 16,600, the Conference Board maintains.
According to vice president of the Conference Board, June Shelp, rise in the number of online job advertisements is great news especially as the second half of the previous year witnessed an almost stable job growth.
This growth cold be compensating significant fall in employment last year
However, Shelp said that this job growth could not be called a trend as last year witnessed a significant fall in the employment growth after showing gains during the first half.
Nonetheless, the rise in the job ads will result in a boost to the businesses and an increased demand for labor throughout the current year.
California registered 56,800 online job ads in the month of January this year while the online labor demand went up by 437,600 job openings throughout the nation making an increase of 11.4 percent, the Conference Board report states.
Number of job ads in Rochester went up by 16.7 percent from the year 2010 to touch 10,660. And the number of new job ads went up by 9.1 percent from 5,400 to 5,900. Buffalo showed an increase of 8.7 percent in total job listings taking the figures from 11,600 in the previous year to 12,600.

Since the month of January last year, the state showed a rise of 23.1 percent by gaining 94,200 online job postings.
The national labor demand has gone up 1.44 million after touching a low in April 2009. The online job listings increased to 4.27 million in January showing an increase of 438,000.
