Canada, 12th April: In a bid to help new Canadian migrants for getting jobs in Canada, the Government of Canada is coming up with a latest employment project in Calgary.
The project is aimed to provide requisite preparation for job training as well as work experience for the young people finding difficulties in getting jobs in Canada.
Giving details about this latest effort by the Canadian government in Calgary, Member of Parliament for Calgary Northeast, Mr. Devinder Shory, on behalf of the Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development, Honorable Diane Finley, said that to succeed in the current job market, the youth must develop the requisite skills needed for their chosen fields.
And this latest project by the Canadian government is a step to help the local youth in Calgary get the desired skills, relevant knowledge and work experience to make them explore their potential to the optimum level.
The Federal government will provide Skills Link funding of over $1.4 million to the Aspen Family and Community Network Society as a help for its program named ‘Building Futures’. The program will cover 125 youth in Calgary develop job and life skills to facilitate their transition in the Canada labor market.
Executive director of Aspen Family and Community Network Society, Ms. Shirley Purves, stated that Aspen feels pride in playing a role towards increasing job opportunities of Canada’s youth.
Under the Skills Link, the local youth finding difficulties in landing a relevant job in their chosen field are covered. These include aboriginal youth, recent immigrants in Canada, youth living in remote and rural areas, dropped out youths from the high school, single parents and young disable people.
Under Canada’s Economic Action Plan, Skills Link is a part of the strategy of the Canadian government to develop the best educated, highly skilled and highly flexible labor force in the world. This program is provided by Service Canada for offering personalized services for various benefits, services and programs of Canadian government.
