Nearly 75 percent of UK jobs go to immigrant workers

United Kingdom, 14th August: Immigrants in the UK take up nearly three-fourth jobs in the UK, reveal the campaigners in the country.

And this is proving to be a cause of worry for the jobless young people in the UK.
Although, there has been a significant improvement in the job scenario in the UK in the period between April 2010 till June this year, however, the figures from the ONS(Office for National Statistics) state that a large chunk of these jobs have gone to the immigrants living in the UK.
This is seemingly proving the fear of several critics that immigrants in the UK, do take an increasing number of jobs which otherwise would have gone to the people born in the UK, stated MigrationWatch UK’s Sir Andrew Green.
The number of new jobs in the UK went up to a whopping 29 million as compared to just around 184,000 in 1989.
Foreigners in the UK are taking nearly four out of every five new jobs in the UK during the past three years period, the data maintains.
Moreover, out of every 10 people taking a new job in the UK in the past three months, around 8 are said to have been born outside the UK, official data adds.
There has been a great fall in the unemployment numbers in the UK in the recent times as the number of jobless in the UK went down by 49,000.
Taking the year-on-year analysis further reiterates that immigrants are getting a winning edge over the UK born people when it comes to new jobs in the UK. The number of immigrant workers getting jobs went up by 114,000 while the number of UK born workers getting employment went down by 15,000.
And another harrowing fact that has come to the knowledge is that several UK born people showed preference for getting unemployment claim rather than earning their livelihood by working in the UK.
It has been revealed that nearly 77,000 new immigrants into the UK were from the EU and are eligible to get jobs in the UK even without possessing UK work visas. Also, out of the total 37,000 new workers coming to the UK from Indian are through the ICTs (Intra company transfers).
