As May elections are filled in the airs of Canada these days. Health care is the biggest issue worrying the Canadian public this time.
As according to a poll conducted, public strongly feels that the new government elected should not neglect the health issues this time as it was done during the previous years. Recently there have been lot factors affecting the health care system in Canada which needs to be set right.
As the population of the country is ageing now, not much has been done about it by the government yet. Public is very concerned about the health care system of the country. There has been extreme shortage of doctors and nurses across the country.
According to a report, around 5 millions of Canadians don’t have a family doctor for them. There are lot of people who need home care and long term care, but currently such health care systems are missing in the country.
The competing parties are also keeping the health issues in election campaigning and agendas, forming their further policies accordingly.
NDP leader Jack Layton accused the Harper for ignoring health care systems in the country during is duration. He further said the Harper proved to be a failure in this area; he had rather made things worse than before also.
According to him, everyday life has become more expensive and public is undergoing lots of problems to survive. They have promised to help struggling families, seniors and work efficiently on health care systems.
NDP party is also spending quiet a large amount for its advertising campaign related to health issues. They are also planning to get television spots to flash their health care messages.
The ads are supposed to highlight the weak areas of previous government, the ads will speak, “Stephen Harper, as Conservative leader, who made health issue as one of his top five priorities before contesting for the post Prime Minister, but neglected while his duration of work.”
The ads will also pose on importance of health services as the frontline concern by the NDP party and will stress on the policies such as training of more doctors and nurses, making medicines affordable to common public and other such things which they will contribute to make it a success.
Party officials have not yet disclosed, how much ads are costing them, where it will be aired and what their target audience are exactly.
