Massive UK immigration scam masterminded by reverends

United Kingdom, 15th June: An illegal immigrant along with two reverends are allegedly behind the systematic and massive immigration scam, a recent court hearing announced on Friday.

Nearly hundreds of sham or fake marriages were conducted by 61 year old Reverend Alex Brown between Africans and eastern Europeans.
The venue of these alleged sham marriages was St. Peter’s Church located off Bohemia Road.
Apart from Brown, others who were involved in performing such sham marriages in the UK included an illegal immigrant in the UK hailing from Ukraine, Vladimir Buchak and Reverend Michael Adelasoye, an immigration lawyer.
The case involves a systematic and massive immigration fraud in which fake marriages of couples who even do not know each other were married by Brown.
Buchak paid an amount between £2,000 and £3,000 to each person from Eastern Europe involved in the marriage scam. Those involved in this UK marriage visa scam allegedly for gaining UK spousal visas hailed mainly from Nigeria and each of them paid Brown, Buchak and Adelasoye for such services.
In a short span of four years between June 2005 and June 2009, a record number of 383 marriages were solemnized at the church of Reverend Brown. However, in the period of four years before June 2005, just 13 marriages were solemnized in this church.
This led to suspicions to the UK immigration department that something was wrong with the genuineness of a large number of marriages in the church involving African and Eastern European nationals.
Hence, Adelasoye along with Brown and Buchak conspired to target Africans, who were ready to be a part of this cynical scam to stay back in the UK, and Eastern Europeans who were lusty for money.
It may be reminded that the main motive of all such fake marriages in the UK was to enable immigrants get permanent residency in the UK, the court hearing maintained.
Prosecutor David Walbank stated before the jurors that the three involved in the UK immigration scam were liable for persuading Eastern European nationals hailing from Norway, Iceland and Switzerland to enter into weddings of convenience.
It was further found that majority of African nationals involved in the UK immigration scam had tried to get permanent residency in the UK using different ways but had not been successful.
