Increase US immigration to reduce deficit- Clinton

United States, 3rd May: The American President has called for increased US immigration to reduce the increasing deficit being faced by the country presently.

The proposal by former US President Bill Clinton to allow increased number of immigrants into the US in order to curb the piling amount of deficit in the country has triggered a national debate.
Addressing a symposium on deficit reduction in Washington last week, Clinton had put forward his proposal which stated that the US needs to have an equal ratio of people receiving payouts and those paying into the system to avoid huge debt being faced by the nation presently.
He asserted on the need to allow increased number of US work visa holders into the nation to bring the US economy out of the current fiscal chaos. Bringing increased number of immigrants in the US would mean increased number of jobs in the US which will ultimately give a big and much needed boost to the US economy.
Speaking at the forum hosted by the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, Clinton said that only the immigrants in the US can help create more jobs for white American men and can also reduce increasing tax burden on the US citizens.
He clarified that white male Americans including high school graduates, non-high school graduates or even college graduates are being forced to bear the increasing tax burden due to severe economic crisis in the country during the last decade.
And if the US economy grows better and stronger due to increased rate of US immigration, then, it will be these white male Americans who will benefit the most, Clinton quipped. This will become possible due to the burden of taxes being shared by the immigrants in the US and increased number of new jobs in the US.
Clinton also clearly expressed his dislike for the new Arizona Immigration Bill which, if approved, will allow the police to question immigrants in the US suspected to be living in the US without legal US visas.
Meanwhile, he clearly expressed his support for President Obama’s immigration reform plan for the US which is being seen as a route to US citizenship for nearly hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants living in the US.
