Immigration gets simpler than before

One year of Work experience required for "permanent residency"

Our Immigration Minister, Jason Kenney has brought in remarkable changes in the Immigration System.

According to the changes, applicants will now have to prove one year of experience rather than two years, which has been prevailing in Canada for quite some time now. One year of experience would be enough to apply for permanent residency in Canada.

Kenney added, “We have been making lots of changes to our economic immigration system.”

He said, “We will take a period of another six months to do a lot of the heavy lifting to get us closer to a fast and flexible immigration system, making things easier for the immigrants.”

The Canada Class of Experience is meant for the foreign students and foreign workers who have come to Canada on a temporary basis.

 Canadian Immigration Lawyer David Davis welcomes the announcement and says that aspiring immigrants will be happy to learn this development.

Davis says, “Should be welcome news for the traders in Manitoba as the province faces a huge labor crisis.”

In many cases, it has been observed that temporary foreign workers have the capability to acquire the status of “permanent residents” after spending a year in the nation. They pick up the lifestyle and Canadian culture in a year’s time only. Hence it always makes sense to allow them attaining the same status as other Canadians.

Before implementing the changes the CIC will have to make important changes before accepting any new applications. The changes are introduced when the Immigration levels are at a peak.

Some of the changes to be brought in by CIC are-

• Clearing the backlog of old FSWP applications.

• Making improvements in the process of FSWs.

• Forming a new Federal Skilled Trades Program

• Bringing modification to Canadian Experience Class

• Developing a pool of skilled workers who come to Canada to start with an employment.

Various departments of the Government concerned with the Immigration and related issues have started rolling up their sleeves to implement the new announcement as soon as possible. CIC has started processing the applications submitted so that the work can be completed faster.

In fact everyone seems to be in a hurry as immigration numbers a historic high in the nation.

With the speed with which the Government and the officers are working, the temporary workers will not have to wait for a longer time to become “permanent residents” of Canada.
