Immigration blues faced by illegal immigrants in United States
by Christine M - December 28, 2009
December 28: The issue of illegal immigration in different western countries is a cause of big concern not just for the immigrants but also for the local people as well.

This is due to the fact that millions of illegal immigrants, after crossing borders of foreign countries, find themselves in a desperate position. They have to live without basic needs including food, shelter and clothing.
And to make things worse for them, they are treated very badly by locals, who consider them as a threat to their existence.
The reason is that local citizens consider them as competitors in the job market since illegal immigrants are cheap labor ready to work at very low wages for the employers. So, immigrants are not welcomed by the natives.
No wonder, many natives demand a tough immigration law or policies so as to prevent any illegal immigrants from entering the boundary of their country.
In fact, the recent announcements of making a pathway for providing citizenship to illegal immigrants is being labeled as quite ill-timed and negative for the economy of the US. The recent bill that will help immigrants to integrate with the society of the US by just paying a small fine is getting serious criticism from far and wide.
The unemployment rate is already soaring due to the economy of US reeling under severe economic crisis following global recession. The critics claim that such legislations, if introduced, will not only make several natives jobless but also provide numerous incentives to millions of illegal immigrants in the United States, who feel immigrants as a big threat to the natives.
More and more Americans are demanding strict laws for illegal immigrants so that they are not provided with the jobs which, in terms of the so-called hard working Ohians, are not deserved by them.
Also, the natives want to make sure that the undocumented immigrants, who break the laws of their country, should not be rewarded for such action of theirs. Rather, they need to face tight employer verification standards along with increased security at borders so that such people are stopped from entering the boundary of the country.
This is the scenario which awaits the illegal immigrants in a country like United States, which needs a serious change, not just in laws, but also in the minds of the locals, as well.
