Immigrants suffered the Most due to Recession- A Report

The report provides an insight about the immigrants got setbacks during the recession periods.

According to the recently released, Annual Monitoring Report on Integration 2010, that is published by the Integration Centre and the Economic and Social Research Institute, have brought out the fact that immigrants have suffered high number of job losses as compared to Irish people.
The recent report of the study stated that immigrants from the central and eastern European states that got connected with EU in2004 and 2007 were the worst affected by the recession. According to the studied facts out five almost one was out of work. It have been studied that they had least satisfied working experience. As many of them were overqualified for the jobs they were per suing even on temporary terms.
Central and eastern Europeans are the most badly affected immigrated population with the low unemployment rate of 18 per cent.
The report showed that the time lag between the start of year 2008 and till the first quarter of the year 2010 the migrant employment rate fell to as low by 30 per cent is quiet high as compared to the fall by 9 per cent of Irish population.
According to the report British people was the second highest having unemployment rate by 16.9 per cent followed by the non-EU population by 15.4 per cent den Irish nationals by 13.1 per cent and immigrants from the countries that EU in 2004 and 2007 had the lowest rate with 6.7 per cent.
The reports also brings out that immigrants mostly didn’t occupied permanent jobs and get less earnings as compared to the Irish people. It also stated that British and 13 old EU states occupied the most positions as managers, administrators, specialists or professionals.
During the recession period from the year 2007 to 2010, it was seen a 70 per cent fall in the Irish immigration rate.
The report also brought out an enhanced state of the Integration in Ireland, dealing mainly with the employment scenario, education opportunities available, political and social participation by the immigrants of the country.
It stated that immigrants had higher educational level as compared to the Irish. Even the children having English language as background have good scores but those who belonged to non- English language lacked behind.
The report also discussed the discrimination faced by the immigrants. The delay in processing the applications for attaining the permanent citizenship was some of the other problems faced by them.
