Agriculture and Hotel Industry need workers

Most of the employers in USA struggle to get workers who can work in their fields and hotels and any such industry. They say that they have forgotten when it was last when the natives had taken any job of skinning, gutting or cutting.

Recently the strictness in the country about “illegal immigrants” has forced the existing workers to move away. In the process thousands of vacancies are there in the fields of agriculture and hotels. As the work of dish washing, or doing up the bed is considered to be a “low profile job”, hence the Americans do not want to take up these jobs.

Recession has retarded the job openings in the other fields but agriculture still booms with openings for immigrants. Employers prefer immigrants because they work without forwarding any conditions, also they are flexible towards working hours and relocation is not an issue with them.

Darin McBeth, President of Minnesota Agri-Growth Council says, “Even at a time of rising unemployment, there is a need for rational immigration reform to ensure a willing and able workforce for the food and agriculture industries.”

There is one thought which feels that Immigrants have talent away the jobs from Americans whereas the other group feels that the story is the other way round, as because people out here didn’t want to take up anything lesser so the employers have been hiring outsiders to get their jobs done.

The hotel industry in USA is the largest and expanding worldwide. There is always a lot of requirement for staff. The vacancies are mainly for “low skilled jobs”. Salaries are not very high when looking from an American’s point of view and the job is mainly on “contract basis” as the workers are not needed for the full year. All these points put together make this industry and its vacancies quite unwanted by the actives. Hence immigrants can always think of taking up such jobs.
