Government of Alberta and Citizenship and Immigration Canada jointly operate a program in the name of AINP or Alberta immigrant nominee Program. The program intends to boost economic growth in the province in which the immigrants play a vital role.
The most attractive feature of this program is that it allows the family members like the spouse, dependent children and common law partners of the selected immigrant, to make an application for permanent residence.
The options available for making an application
One can apply under skilled or semi-skilled category and can also apply on his own or even with the help of an employer.
But, those who are School Teachers at Elementary and Secondary level would not be eligible to make an application. In fact, Clergy, Athletes, Bench Workers at Dental labs, or even a refugee claimant would not be eligible to apply under this category.
A temporary foreign worker living in any other province than Alberta would also not be eligible to make an application. Live-in caregivers can’t also make under this program.
A temporary foreign order holding a valid trade certificate which is available in Alberta can also apply through this program.
The occupations valid under this category
• An individual (temporary foreign worker) working in an eligible engineering occupation is qualified to submit under this category.
• An immigrant holding a Post-Graduation Work Permit can also apply provided he is working in Alberta.
• Those immigrants who have been offered either a permanent or full time job by an employer in Alberta will also be eligible to apply under this program. One can apply as a skilled worker or a semi-skilled worker depending upon the experience and qualification.
• Those capable of a willing to set up a farm in the province can be eligible if they hold required experience in farm management and have enough resources for the same.
The success rate of application
The rate of success of an application is largely dependent upon the labor market needs and even the volume of application submitted. An applicant must be informed that the program can stop accepting applications at its discretion even without issuing a notice prior to this act. The applications may be rejected for the categories which are removed from the list and for the no explanation or information is to be provided to the applicant. An applicant should also be informed that even if you meet all the criteria you may not be eligible to see your application being accepted or even getting an approval of the same without evens any reason being cited to you.
Alberta Immigrant Program is meant to strengthen the economy of the Province. This is a program which is jointly conducted by both the Government of Alberta and the Government of Canada. An immigrant who is already there in the province can submit an application under both skilled and semi-skilled category depending on meeting the criteria. However, only if one meets the criteria brings no guarantee of clearing the process.
