New laws enforced in Arizona to curb illegal immigrants

In a recent development in Arizona, the government has introduced new laws to curb illegal immigration. As a step, the officials have been authorized to “interrogate and ask for papers from any illegal immigrants”. The officials suspecting any of the people staying in Arizona can ask for required papers to verify if the immigrant is legal or illegal.

The law is in alignment with the one passed in Alabama but absolutely in contrast with Presidential announcement of allowing illegal immigrants to stay back for two more years if they meet certain criteria.

Experts say that the issue is not a superficial one rather is an inner face. Most of the employers have immigrants who do not come here legally. Employers hire them as they get their job done at a much cheaper rate in compared to what they would have paid to the natives. In the process there are nurses, civil servants who have been staying in various states of USA for years now, but they might not carry the required paper. Some do not consider them to be illegal.

Experts suggest that instead of targeting the immigrants the better way is to ask the employers to check the details of these people before hiring them. The employers should be more responsible than the immigrants.

The process of E-verification is maintained in which employers would inform the details of job applicants after verification to the Security Administration or the Department of Homeland Security.

If an immigrant so caught by the police and he is asked to submit documents to prove his residency status then he can always submit his “driver’s license” to get away from the officials. However, there are many immigrants who keep on driving even without a license.

According to some, National ID Card could be a possibility. However some fear that if it gets into wrong hands then the life of a person could be messed up.

Suggestion is to introduce Social Security Card which will have a chip with biometric information. This card can be prepared in plastic version.

With these suggestions the illegal immigrants ill have a tough time in the days to come which is surely good news for the genuine immigrants.
