Illegal immigrants in the US plan legal advice

United States, 13th October: Illegal immigrants are seeking legal advice of US immigration lawyers in order to get requisite legal papers in the wake of increased fear of deportation.

As per the findings of a USA Today report, several US immigration attorneys practicing in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona have admitted that their legal advice is being sought by a large number of illegal or undocumented immigrants living in the US following increased concerns about the debate heating up in the past few months on illegal foreigners living in the nation.

According to an immigration attorney in Fort Worth, Jason Mills, people have become scared and there is undoubtedly a culture of fear among undocumented immigrants living in the US. Mills said that until this year, he was never asked for legal advice by undocumented foreigners in the country.

Immigrants having property and money are being referred to lawyers having specialization in trusts and wills.

Way back in the year 2006, several children were stranded at schools and spouses could not get access to the bank accounts of their husbands following immigration raids, revealed Cecilia Menjivar, a Sociology Professor at Arizona State University. Hence, people don’t want such thing to happen with them now and are seeking immigration lawyers for getting required legal documents.

The Obama administration has acted tough on illegal immigrants living in the US and has enforced a large number of deportations from the US during the past one year, Mills stated. He said that Congress has not accepted to legalize the status of around 11 million illegal immigrants in the US.

According to official figures, a record number of around 392,000 undocumented immigrants were deported back to their respective native countries. and this is certainly good news especially when everyone has been blaming laxative border enforcement in the US.

The official figures reveal a total of 13 million illegal immigrants living in the US and this is certainly considered to be a great risk to the security and safety of the nation. Also, it invites wrath and anguish of legal US residents.

According to Janet Napolitano, the US Homeland Security Secretary, the government has deployed unprecedented manpower, technology and infrastructure to curb the menace of illegal immigration in the US.
