Illegal Immigrants are now granted permanent residence status by staying hidden

The UK is authorizing the illegal immigrants who has been staying in the country for around 14 years as the with permanent residency status.

Recently around 9,000 of illegal migrants from different countries have attained permanent resident status by the UK authorities. They have granted such a status because they have managed to stay in the country unnoticed for the 14 years or more.

This regulation to grant such status to the illegal immigrants was introduced in the year 12003 by the Labour.

As per the rules the immigrants are granted the permanent residency after a certain period of time, even if they are living in the country unlawfully the country grants them advantage to them over their loopholes in the immigration system.

Such immigrants are not discovered by the authorities during such long period and hence are provided with the status. After this status is granted to them they are treated same as a country citizen, they can avail all the advantages provided by the welfare states. They also have right to apply for the British passport even.

An estimate of around 22,600 immigrants whose visas were not even fulfilling all the required conditions have been given an indefinite leave to stay in the country lawfully for around 10 years.

These figures came out when immigration services were questioned by the authorities. It was pointed out that in the February a year before, the Parliamentary Ombudsman, Ann Abraham commented on the situation that UK Border Agencies have not even taken care of the basic functions they were supposed to perform as an result such action has to be taken.

This rule of illegal immigrants staying back came into being for the one who managed to be in the country undiscovered for a set period of time can apply to Home Office to live in country for any period of time. The ones having awful criminal record is rejected on the above basis otherwise all the illegal immigrants are considered for the grant.

It has been found out that since the law has come into being around 8, 948 migrants have been covered under it the number is still increasing.
Till the 2009 such rate was around ranging 700 to 900 per year but during the year 2009 the number rose to 2, 061 and around 1,774 in the year 2010.

According to a Office Home spokeswomen, the completing of 14 years does not give an automatic right to any immigrant to remain the country but each of the application has to considered and should be of good character then only it will granted.
