Stephen Harper and the conservatives have come out successful with a massive margin in the recently conducted elections in Canada. Now, they have tough choices to make in order to prepare the government that shall deliver the promises spelt out to anticipating populace of various regions. Whether the promises will be kept or will they just let out the opportunity just slipped out of their pockets will be clear in couple of months. This period is crucial for it will bring out a clear picture of the direction in which Stephen Harper leads his cabinet and colleagues.

Anticipation is Stephen Harper will work for the establishment of consolidated economic cooperation that would bring about regional integration in all regions. Now, the prominent question is how will he address the issues relating to the Asian immigrants in Canada. The policy of the government that governed the country in earlier times did assign highest priority to foreign education along with promoting Canada as a preferred destination for the international students.

Stephen Harper has made some good gesture by proposing a way to attract the Asian immigrants occupying strategic regions in the country by continuing the policy of the erstwhile governments in bringing more and more international students to the country.

Out of the vast majority of international students occupying the educational institutions and universities in Canada, the immigrants from Asia constitute are significantly higher in number. Harper surely has an opportunity to play his card to the core and win the hearts of the immigrants residing in all regions. One more issue to consider is how far will the cabinet colleagues of Stephen Harper will agree and provide consent on his proposed ideology. People can expect great bureaucratic alacrity in range of various services be it supply of food grains or extending educational services. Such a situation definitely warrants Stephen Harper to pull back his ambitious program in continuing the policy of education to be made available to foreign students including the Asians.

Yet another issue is how far Stephen Harper will go to succeed in order to convince the Canadian born citizens. A huge exchequer meant for educational services to be spent for the foreign students may create mild clouds among the resident citizens.

Government needs more space to maneuver in achieving the twin objectives of satisfying the people living in the entire regions without undercutting growth in promoting Stephen Harper’s educational policies without pinching the consumers. As for the dent in tax revenues is concerned, the shortfall for bridging the fiscal deficit could be the finance minister’s pure focus.
