Higher education in Canada too expensive for foreign students

During the course of a survey undertaken by the Government it was found that the amount spend for foreign students studying in Canada was 6.5 billion dollars. The figures are reported to be more than the revenues earned through exporting coal or exporting lumber. A Minister from the Government released the above information in a meeting with the University leaders.

The amount spent as above is exclusive of amount spent for educational services however, the information is an eye opener as to how the government plays an extraordinary role in order to promote Canada like a major strategic point in lieu of international students.

In a report wherein the impact on economy owing to international education within Canada was dealt with furnishing key details, it was clearly outlined that the visa students had spent an amount exceeding $6.5 billion towards meeting the cost of their tuitions, accommodation expenses and spending on various discretionary items.

As per the report, the amount spent by the visa students almost equals wealth earned through exporting lumber amounting to $5.1 billion or generation of wealth gained through export generated by coal amounting to an average $6.07 billion.
