Figures of US immigration deportations skewed-Report

United States, 18th October: As per a report by the Federation for American Immigration Reform, data regarding number of deportations of illegal immigrants by the US immigration is skewed.

As per an immigration reform group FAIR (Federation for American Immigration Reform), the latest deportation figures of undocumented immigrants in the US were statistically insignificant.

The number of overall deportations had shown a decline but there were higher number of deportations of criminal immigrants in the US, the FAIR maintains.

And these figures certainly reflect that the Obama administration seems to be unwilling to enforce uniform US immigration legislations against criminal as well as non-criminal undocumented immigrants. Moreover, the data also shows constant efforts of Obama government to misrepresent the actual immigration figures in a bid to show that it is enforcing the law.

It has been reported by the US ICE(Immigration and Customs Enforcement) last year that it had deported maximum number of undocumented immigrants from the US last year than in the entire history of the country. The ICE had deported around 392,000 illegal immigrants from the US out of which around 195,000 were criminal offenders having involvement in sex offenses, murder and drug violations.

Janet Napolitano, chief of the US Homeland Security, stated during a news conference on October 6 this year that there has been a fundamental change in the approach of the US government towards enforcement of immigration laws.

But, FAIR, an immigration reform group in the US, said that Napolitano had failed to reveal that although there has been a rise in the number of criminal immigrants’ deportation, but, the overall deportation numbers, nonetheless, remained unchanged. On the contrary, there has been a decline in the number of non-criminal illegal immigrants’ deportations this year, the group maintains.

President of FAIR Dan Stein said that both the US Department of Homeland Security and secretary Napolitano are unnecessarily boosting themselves for stepping up laws without revealing that the department is only completing deportation cases initiated by the previous government.

Moreover, Stein added that the US President Barack Obama and Napolitano had been trying utmost to dismantle the policies of the previous US government.
