Foreign students face a hole in their pocket due to expensive rentals in the nation

Every year more than 90,000 students come to Canada from all over the world. With the growing popularity of the nation it has climbed up the ladder and is giving a tough competition to its counterparts in attracting foreign students.
The multiculturalism nature, faster and easier steps of immigration and galore of opportunities available for study and work during and after the course completion are key factors for this country becoming quite a liked one by the students of foreign origin who aspire to earn a higher degree.
If one breaks up the living cost of a student in Canada then it would be observed that the maximum share goes to “stay and meals”. For every meal one has to pay somewhere between $10 to $25 per person.
The various options available for a student to stay are hostel, hotels, Dormitory, Home Stay, Off Campus accommodation.
If a student wants to rent a house then he will be given many options like renting a bachelor’s accommodation, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom or even 3 or more bedrooms. For a bachelor’s accommodation the rent would be approximately $700 in a place like Ontario. In the other places it would vary according to the demand. This seems to be a quite big amount when you look at the living cost of a student when he has to meet other expenditures.
To save upon the cost one can choose for hostel facility which is temporary and inexpensive by nature. The cost for this would be $10-$20 per night. One has to use shared bathroom, toilet and kitchen.
YMCA hotels are another option as the cost is $25-$45 per night. They fill up quite fast due to less expensive rates they offer.
Student has the option of living in Dormitories, where they have to share the basic amenities but these do not burn a hole in the pocket.
There is an option of staying with a Canadian family who welcome international students. Here they can get food or meals and lodging both.
A student who has left his own country and gone abroad to study is already having to bear the expenditure of huge tuition cost, an added rent which is expensive can aggravate the burden of him.
Hence there is no harm in exploring the other facilities to stay so that a little cost can be saved.
