Dream Act to realize the dreams of Students

Dream Act is extending the support to the illegal immigrant students and help them realizing their dreams by helping them their college degrees.

Recently the proposed Illinois Dream Act was passed by the Illinois Senate and further is likely to move to the House for their response in the coming next few weeks.

The Dream Act is not offering a way to young aspiring illegal immigrants who are the students or for the citizenship in the country.

This new state’s Dream Act is looking forward to help around 95,000 illegal young immigrants to get an opportunity to get education and they are looking forward to achieve this goal not the expenses of the taxpayer money they have. Illegal students getting college degree is common in the country.

The students usually go for full time jobs during their class hours and hence take more time than usual to complete their degree and have to make many scarifies to earn and pay their school fees. They go for such jobs because they do not qualify the eligibility criteria for the financial aid and cannot get the lower rate in the state tuition.

As the employers cannot legally hire such students, due to these problems usually such students are not able start their career and cannot go for higher education.

This bill is expected to set up a commission to raise and arrange personal funds and award it to the needful students. The commission will also take care of the program, look for the needs of the students who are aided with the funds issued and also extend the training sessions to counselors of various high schools who guide the illegal immigrant’s students aspiring to attend the college.

Dream Act does support any of such cause as that was proposed by the federal legislation that ended in the U.S. Senate during the last year that was attached to Defense appropriations bill.

The bill also helps the students or their parents to invest in the state’s college saving and other pre paid tuition programs. Such investments can be made by those who are paying income taxes with an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). The students need to have ITIN take part in the program.

It is expected that with coming of this Act, it would bring out opportunities to students and would not in any condition curb the right of any legal immigrant or U.S. born student, who want to get a college degree even when costs are more than expected and there is problem in getting students loan.
