Deportation of undocumented parents—Effects on their US born kids

United States, 28th August: When undocumented immigrant parents are deported from the US, their families get separated and ruined.

And this has been happening for quite some time now, thanks to the immigration policies of the US that deport parents with undocumented immigrant status while leaving their children alone in the US to care and fend for themselves.

US immigration rules split families—Every year, a large number of families, in thousands, are fighting with deportations. Although, US President Barack Obama has reiterated time and again of removing only those with criminal records, but still, the practice of removal of parents from the US is going on unabated.

As a result, families are being ruined as a large number of US born children are being left alone without either both of their parents or one parent.

Foster care, adoption—only options for US born children-- The stories of children watching with horrified faces as their parents get dragged from their home by US immigration officials, sudden disappearance of their immigrant parents from their homes due to officials landing them in custody and so on, the tale of woes is common for most of US born kids of undocumented immigrant parents.

Official statistics by the US department of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) show removal of nearly 45,000 parents with undocumented immigrant status in the initial six months period this year.

And in such a scenario, many children are left in foster care while their one or both parents shunted out of the US by immigration officials.

Families shattered, lives of parents, kids ruined--An advocacy organization based in New York, the Applied Research Center reveals nearly 5,100 US born kids are living in foster care in around 22 US states. And many US citizen kids are being forced to go for adoption even though their immigrant parents are not willing for such a decision.

But, the apathy is that immigrant parents, after deportation, are helpful to do anything to have their children live with them.

Horrible is the word that seems to convey the unending tale of woes and sorrows following deportations by the US immigration officials of undocumented immigrant parents as their children pass get shocked to live a life away from their parents.
