Although, the efforts to clear the backlog of UK visa applications by the UK embassy officials in New Delhi have been going on, however, the wait period of about five to ten weeks is likely before the processing takes place.

The current period is a peak season for the UK visitor visa applications in India. Hence, all aspirants wanting to move or visit UK should take timely action and begin the process of filing their applications for UK visas at the earliest possible time.
Any delay in doing so could result in a series of delays or even denials for many aspiring Indians wanting to get UK visas, states an advice from the UK Border Agency spokesperson in New Delhi
Several travel firms dealing with overseas travel have reiterated the likelihood of UK visa delays in the coming days. UK visas are getting delayed by nearly 22-25 days in this year compelling travelers to opt for alternative overseas destinations.
The delay in the processing of UK visas is coming at a period when the present exchange rate is favoring Indian travelers visiting overseas.
There is good news for those who have been to the UK within the period of last one year. The UK immigration official stated that all such people will have to face shortest wait times for getting their UK visa applications processed in New Delhi. UK visas of all such applicants will be approved within a record time of just about a week, the spokesperson for the UK immigration official added.
