Current increase in net immigration in the UK shows system out of control

United Kingdom, 3rd September: The net increase in the net UK immigration levels shows the immigration system is out of control.

Speaking about this, UK immigration minister Damian Green said that the latest ONS (Office for National Statistics) data is a proof that immigration system inherited by the UK government is uncontrolled.
The present population of Wales and England has gone above the mark of 55 million showing an increase of 400,000 as compared to the figures of 2008.
The increase of 0.74 percent has been the biggest percentage yearly increase since the 1960s.
And the population of the UK has gone above 62 million mark.
This has become a cause of serious concern for the critics of immigration policy and MPs of the UK.
The present UK population figures are unsustainable and alarming, stated James Clappison, Tory MP. He fears that the population of the UK is going to reach 70 million any time.
Hence, there is a compelling need to address this matter at the earliest and put efforts to bring UK population under control. This can be done by bring UK immigration levels under control, feels Clappison.
UK population is growing at unacceptable rates and nearly two-third of this growth is due to immigration, feels Sir Andrew Green of UK thinktank Migrationwatch.
Mr. Green feels the need for political parties to accept the reality that the population of Britain is swelling at high rates and serious measures are needed to bring this under control.
In the year 2009, there has been a biggest record jump in the population of Wales and England.
Among the few measures cited by the UK Home Office include putting an annual limit on the number of immigrants hailing from non-EU nations to work in the UK so as to bring the immigration levels down to the rate of 1990s.
No doubt, UK still needs the best talent from abroad. But, there is an immediate need to strike a balance between the requirements of the workforce for the UK businesses and the impact of immigration in the UK.
And the UK also needs to focus on other categories of immigrants coming to the UK like those coming to study in the UK or to join their families in the UK since many of these immigrants seek permanent settlement in the UK.
