Taiwan and Canada will enjoy the benefits of VWP

The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) in US allows nationals and citizens of as many 37 countries to enter and stay in US for a period of 90 days for the reasons like Business and tourism. For this, no visa is required; else if one wishes to apply for one, he can do the same.
One has to meet a few requirements to visit US under this program. Such travellers should have an authorization with the help of Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) prior they begin to travel. They are screened at the entry point and they should get enrolled in the Department of Homeland and Security of US.

When does a country come under this program?

Countries which share security related information with United States which include mutual sharing of valid information like loss of passport, border control and other security related information.

However, even if a country comes under this program it cannot give a guarantee on a citizen getting approval to move in to US.

Taiwan has been included under VWP

On 2nd of October, this year, Department of Homeland Security has announced that Taiwan has been included I the list. Taiwanese can enter US under this program from November 1, 2012, provided they get an approval from ESTA.

This development gives flexibility to the travelers giving a boom to Tourism Industry to both US and Taiwan.

Roget Hsu, Secretary General of Travel Industry Association informs that the step will increase the number of tourists visiting US by a t least 30 more per cent. This would lead a growth in travel industry business for both the countries.

Canada enjoys the benefit of VWP

US Immigration Department has announced on October 3 of this year that the employers willing to hire Canadian citizens can start doing so in near future. All these days, citizens of Canada had to apply personally to enter the nation. Once the TN application is approved by USCIS, an applicant from Canada can apply for entry under TN status.

These changes are made to ensure a better growth of economy and a free passage of people from the potential allying countries of US. This would make the trade and tourism a hassle free task both for the applicants and also the officials.
