Australia, 30th January: Here is some great news for international graduates having Australian student visas.

As per the information, Australian immigration department-DIAC(Department of Immigration and Citizenship), aspirants wanting to study in Australia as well as those with Australian student visas will have new post-study work arrangements becoming effective earlier this year.
New Australia post-study work arrangements—Australia is going to become all the more favored destination for foreign students by introducing new rules for post-study work arrangements. The new rules will become effective soon this year, announced the immigration department.
New rules for Australian post-study work will become effective quite early this year and this will benefit holders and aspirants of Australian student visas.
Who will be eligible for new post-study work visa—As per the details, the new Australia post-study work visa arrangements aimed to attract an increasingly high number of foreigners to study here.
In order to be eligible for new arrangements, one needs to be a graduate of any eligible Australian Bachelor degree, Masters by research degree, Masters by coursework degree, Masters degree(extended) or Doctoral degree. In addition, the individual must fulfill all the requirements for this Australian visa.
The best thing about these new rules for Australian visas is that foreign students will be able to stay in Australia and seek further employment opportunities following successful completion of their respective study course in Australia.
New Australian post-study work through additional stream—It is worth notable that an additional stream under the current Australian subclass 485 visa(temporary skilled graduate) will be made for new post-study Australian work visa arrangement. Australian subclass 485 enables foreign students having skills and qualifications related to an occupation in demand for staying in Australia for an extra period of 18 months.
So, the existing Australian temporary skilled graduate(subclass 485) will get a new name as temporary graduate visa(subclass 485 visa). Individuals can forward their applications either through the existing subclass 485 arrangements(graduate work stream) or through the new rules for Australia post-study work visa stream.
The only thing is to keep in mind that they must fulfill various eligibility criteria for the respective visa scheme. Another point worth notable is that the new arrangements do not, in any way, offer a route to Australian permanent residency.
