Canada, 23rd July: Canada has been rated among the top ten nations for being a welcoming, safe and an adventure tourism destination.

The ratings have been given during a recent tourism study of developed nations the world over.
The tourism study gave seventh place to Canada for the scores received by it in adventure opportunities and tourism entrepreneurship. The study involving 28 nations gave eighth ranking to Canada for factors including safety, sustainability, health and natural resources.
The report is based on detailed figures obtained from private sector as well as government agencies internationally. The report was issued by Xola Consulting, the Adventure Travel Trade Association and George Washington University jointly.
Adventure is growing and people are rising up from the mass tours undertaken by them involving more than 20 people coming from the same place.
Canada went down in the rankings for readiness which includes factors like humanitarian development, tourism infrastructure, image and culture resources, said research director for the Adventure Tourism Development Index, Philippe Duverger.
Although, it received nine out of 10 points for Canada’s image, but the nation got a poor ranking of 4.76 for humanitarian development which takes into consideration partnerships of the country with aided and non-government organizations. This, inevitably, resulted in pushing Canada ranking to 24th in terms of ‘readiness’.
Nonetheless, the nation got good scores in natural resources, abundance of open spaces and existing ecotourism opportunities for the adventurers from the world over.
Avalon Peninsula along the East Coast Trail in Newfoundland offers hiking for the adventurers. So, come to Canada for hiking the mountains, and not just seeing them, says media relations manager for Canadian Tourism Commission, Elyse Mailhot.
And if you want to have diving, then Arctic Kingdom situated in Nunavut is a lifetime experience awaiting you. Fond of whales, well, visit Sea North Tours in Manitoba to have fun watching Beluga whales. So, Canada has plenty to offer for almost every adventurer. Head to Alberta’s Canmore Cave Tours for enjoying caving.
The main aim of designing the worldwide adventure index was to enable the policy-makers to have a thorough view of the international tourism market.
