Canada seeks skilled and semi skilled Irish workers to fill a wide range of jobs across various industries in Canada.

With the successful immigration of over 10,000 Irish to Canada over the past couple of years, the Canadian Ambassador to Ireland has announced that Canada seeks tens of thousands of more skilled Irish workers to fill a wide range of jobs across various Industries in Canada. The booming Canadian economy coupled with massive infrastructure projects in both government and private sector has the country seeking skilled labor and workers. Canadian companies involved with fisheries, mining, oil and natural gas industries have also reported serious shortage of workers and have a lot many vacancies.

Massive Demand: Such has been the demand for skilled and semi skilled workers in Canada that all 5,000 holiday work visas open to anyone between the ages of 18 and 35, were grabbed in no time. Immigration officials have now increased the holiday work visas for Irish citizens seeking work in Canada to 5,350 for the year 2012.

Why Canada: In this era of global uncertainty and financial meltdown’s, not only is the Canadian market a strong emerging market but there are job opportunities across various industries for various skilled and semi skilled positions. Not only does Canada have a string Irish immigrant population but also with a strong booming Canadian economy, there is a wide range of salaries and perks depending on the job and levels of experience.

The standard of living in Canada is quite high as compared to a lot of other nations while there is a range of rented accommodation easily available for the workers. Rents in major Canadian cities like Toronto and Vancouver start from CA$1,000 (€720) a month for a small apartment. The rents are lesser for most tier 2 cities across the nation.

Synergic Governments: In order to fulfill the massive worker demand in Canada, the Canadian embassy held a job fair in Dublin last week that focused mainly on job opportunities in Canada. While the demand for workers in Canada's western provinces of British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan continue to be strong, there are also massive requirements in the four Atlantic Provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island.

Not only do Canada and Ireland share emigration and business relations, the comfort level between the two nations can be gauged from the fact that the Canadian embassy in Ireland is personally supervising and spearheading a campaign to establish regular direct flights between the two countries to allow a free exchange of immigrants, tourists and trade.
